I have never seen anything like this one before. At the beginning of the movie I was fully ready to hate it - the first 40 or so minutes were excruciating: really gross and uncomfortable, lots of jumpscares, some really disgusting scenes. I don't think it's even that extreme, but it was way too much for *me*: I made an offhand comment after that I fully rescind the statement that "I think I could be okay watching The Substance."
