Pretty predictable plot and some unanswered questions, but it was a fun watch. The jokes were hit or miss for me. There were some that were genuinely funny, though. Deadeye as a character was the most entertaining for me.
I think after a while, the film’s sexuality becomes excessive and a bit unfunny, though. I also wasn’t crazy about how they did the “woah you speak English!??” bit so many times

Gorgeous colors and visuals.
I love the use of face touching as a symbol of intimacy. It is clearly established and carries some of the film’s most powerful moments, like Maria touching Karin’s face in a shared moment of grief despite their standoffish relationship.
All of the characters are well-established through their brief backstory flashbacks, and the roles are well-acted. Ingrid Thulin as Karin was the most impressive performance for me throughout the film. My favorite individual acting moment though…
Excellent horror. This movie blends paranoia and distrust with grotesque horror to make for quite an unsettling experience. The special effects and gore are very well done, and the premise is executed very cleanly.

The pacing of this film is exceptional. 30 minutes pass before the portal is even opened, but the humorous start makes it feel like just a few minutes.
