I don't know, maybe 5-stars??? I'm going to leave it at 4.5 but just barely.

I really love this film. And yes, part of that comes from the characters and story that Gerwig is pulling from, but so much of it comes from Gerwig's script and direction, and Huoy's fantastic editing. The overlapping dialogue is so unique and so incredible. It gives the film an energy and tone that is so spastic and yet so warm and cheerful. Gerwig's vision…

I have a lot of thoughts on this one, so brace yourself

The TLDR: this is a great film that has a ton of personality and easily cements itself in the top 10 of superhero/comic book films (as seen in my ranking here). However, it does falter in its final act, which trades detective story for disaster-action. This doesn't ruin the experience, but feels like a missed opportunity given how good the first two acts are.

    Spoilers below.
