  i used to think this film was a well-made chinese drama/epic, just like Ang Lee’s crouching tiger hidden dragon. on this watch threw however it felt seriously cringe and i couldn’t stop laughing. maybe ill need to rewatch it again in a different mood or sum

  it is honestly infuriating how many people in my life refuse to recognize the palestinian side of the israeli occupation. this film taught me so much and provides a wonderful perspective on the reality of the conflict,, definitely going to rewatch this soon.

  this movie made me ask myself: when would i personally break and quit upholding truth and morality?

  carla is the closest representation ive seen of a mortally achievable perfection. i wish i had her as a teacher and friend.

  also, i suggest watching this movie the first time just to take it in and experience it, then rewatch it while looking for windows and what they signify in the film.

  i learned a lot about who i don’t want to become as a father from mr o’brien. i kept thinking to myself “i need to go to therapy! and develop personal emotional regulation skills! BEFORE i get married and have kids”
