    📀 Rewatch.

This is a hoot! It’s a part of that semi-descent reboot club, I would put Starsky and Hutch in there. Netflix couldn’t do this right now. It’s as fun as it’s supposed to be! Sean William Scott and Johnny Knoxville are a perfect pair, who would have thought! Jessica Simpson was such a stunner back in the day. She holds her own in this too. The entire cast is oddly assembled but works.

This watch comes with a bit of backstory…

Allan Rayman made an album called Harry Hard-On - it’s great smoking in a darkened room type rock. He always mentioned this film being an inspiration for this album and some songs from the next. Naturally I had to check it out, especially after seeing it’s a young Christian Slater film; hoping it to be like Heathers. It was not.

So cut to 2025, years after hearing this film was his inspiration…

What a slice of forgotten life this film is. It is a Classic. One to be rewatched over and over again it perfectly showcases a lost era, the childhood friends and memories we all make, and the emotional bonds young boys make with one another.
The young cast shines, captivating me since the first time I watched this on TV. River Phoenix is rock solid, gentle, and truly an incredible actor. I get sad every time I watch him on…

I love this movie. It's a classic. It's the best Adam Sandler comedy ever made. It's got a perfect balance of smart and stupid comedy.
Filmed back in the era of plain Jane comedies that hit and know exactly when to cut away from the joke. The writing is so goddamn funny, heartfelt and highly original. The characters bring so much life and outrageousness to each scene.
Happy Gilmore, Shooter McGavin and Chubbs Peterson... ChatGPT nor Tarantino could come up with names as good as these.
    Rest in Peace, Chubbs.
