The Harder They Fall 2021
All the style of Baby Driver. All the grit of a classic western. I love this movie.
The line at the very beginning "These People Existed" seems a bit silly for what is clearly an extremely dramatized story, but personally it doesn't bother me.

The Bad Guys 2022
I'm a sucker for heist movies. I also really like Sam Rockwell, so I guess I'm a bit biased, but I thought this movie was a truckload of fun. It's not the most perfect or the most cleverest, but I think this is a very solid standalone kids movie. I hope they don't try to make a sequel, but they probably will.

Hot Rod 2007
There is a very specific subgenre of comedy movie that's hard to explain. The best I can do is to say that they're hilarious, they typically lean into a bit of absurdism, and they have endlessly memorable and quotable lines. Mostly, though, they just have that feel that's incredibly hard to describe, but you know it when you see it. This movie has it.
For me, this is right up there on my Mt Rushmore of these films alongside Napoleon…
