    As much as I still maintain that the first two movies in this trilogy are fantastic, you can see the cracks starting to form underneath the surface as they strain to stretch the beloved story across 3 films. And unfortunately, it’s in The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies where those cracks are finally revealed.

    The movie takes the final 30 pages of the novel and uses all the extra unnecessary subplots it started in the first two movies…

It exists purely because the studio has made tons of money off the franchise, and since this one made just under a billion, they definitely got what they wanted out of it.     I respect the hell out of the indépendant spirit and the creativity that made Hundreds of Beavers possible.
