  Still cannot believe that this little gem doesn‘t get the praise — especially in Germany — it most definitely deserves. Is it because we actually have been living in this dystopia for decades? I think that the non-German mind almost cannot fully comprehend this due to the career and importance of Dieter Hallervorden and Dieter Thomas Heck in German pop culture (says someone in his late 30s …).

  First time watch. Absolutely blown away. I instantly remembered the recent discussion between Friedkin and Refn and just thought: "THAT is a movie you can call a masterpiece, Nicolas!" And yes, they don't make movies like this anymore. Friedkin has such an eye for detail, timing and narration. I could go on with the many standout moments, the score, the cast, the colors, ... Wow. Just wow.
