When you consider what Superman meant as a symbol of 20th century masculinity, and the popularity of the Superman films at the time of Deathtrap’s release, what Christopher Reeve did here must have been a systemic shock to some moviegoers. I’m bugging out. How is anyone supposed to rate this film??? It charmed the hell out of me but I wouldn’t be able to tell you what happened.
Was watching this in the second row of imax trying to lean down as much as I could like a reprobate and now I need a shiatsu massage. One of the best moviegoing experiences I’ve ever had.
Fuck it. Five stars.
