Annihilation 2018
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I have a lot of opinions… a lot of criticism for Annihilation. First off, I did read the book this film was based off of. The film and the novel stand on their own, they're similar but oh so very different. La Notte 1961
La Notte opens with the camera slowly descending down an elevator with the view of the city. These two long minutes set the pacing for the rest of the film. The film can be hard to watch if you don’t take interest in the characters or appreciate cinematography. Michelangelo Antonioni was clearly more concerned with how the film looked more than the content of the story.
