As for my first Wim Wenders Film, I came out of the cinema both impressed and confused.
The images of late-eighties Berlin combined with the flood of thoughts of everyday minds and the narrative motif of "As the child was once a child.", I was expecting a poetic piece on mortality and the beauty of the mundane, which I did get. Just not in a way that I was expecting, as if Wim Wenders was expecting my expectations.

This film looks like someone spliced all the cutscenes of some RPG into a two-hour film.
Unintentionally funny at times, it becomes boringly grating after the 45 min mark. Towards the end I was begging for this to end.

Forty-five minutes in did I realize that I was watching a 35mm copy instead of a digital-scan that was projected onto the canvas in front of me.
Which, looking back, is something im really grateful of, after one horrorstory after another of bad digital scans and conversions.
This is a film you should try to watch in a cinema and its one of those films where I think that only cellulose can make it justice.
