Add another point to Bong Joon Ho’s resume. A wildly entertaining and completely original movie, which feels sorta rare these days, it was refreshing to watch. While on the sillier side there is well designed character development and an overflow of great acting. I would have to name every lead if I were to single anyone out for acting they were all so fluid in their roles. Real enjoyable watch for me, I’m looking forward to the Robert Pattinson run we’re going to continue.

This movie required an elevated level of acting consistently throughout the entire cast, with that being said Bill Skarsgård and Lily-Rose Depp steal the show. A truly terrifying rendition of Nosferatu that was executed flawlessly in my opinion. I’m not a horror movie fan as I feel that they frequently go overboard with CGI and suffer from bad acting but this movie is quite the opposite. Robert Eggers has a style and you can see it throughout the film, this story is right up his alley, it’s no surprise how well this came out.

Now this is a movie I like a lot, but do not love.
I left this movie wanting a little more. While I thought the exchanges between characters were pure and smooth, the set pieces beautiful, and that the soundtrack was incapsulating emotion perfectly, I felt the story was unfinished. Maybe the moral of the story is that two wrongs don’t make a right and this movie is a masterpiece, but for me it was a movie just below perfect.
