spooky movie that's tense and fun but also idk... couldve had more gas? engrossing during the watch but now that it's over its lying flat for me.

rewatched for the first time in a few years. a story about itself, about the construction of itself and what that fantasy (& by extension the film) means to the main character.
it does this thing that i've always thought was cool where it describes a scene flatly, and then later executes it with a lot of intensity. the winkies diner scene, the audition scene, etc. which then, y'know, builds into that theme of creating fantasy which gets flipped around…
