The very first series I ever watched in its entirety was Top Gear, and man did they keep up the entertainment all the way through to the end
Before watching there was still a part inside of me that thought "maybe in a year or two they'll come back for one last ride, when they miss it too much."
But with this ending... a legendary chapter really has come to a close
if only there was this kind of archival footage for the Million Dollar Quartet jam, would have made an amazing trilogy together with The Last Waltz
proof that you don't need that many instruments to make very very good music
one of the best things about this special is the huge grin Jim has on his face talking about some of these songs he wrote before playing them.
"I got out of university in 1965, totally prepared for life in the 12th century"
Live versions of pretty much all of his hits are on here, sung in a really relaxed sitting with somebody else accompanying him on another acoustic. I'll defo be watching and listening this a couple more times
