I'm giving this the leverage of rating this 4 stars but honestly, I'd rate this 3.75 stars nowadays. I think this is an amazing film in a vacuum along with the first, but honestly, it really doesn't do as much for me after reading the book outside of offering a tremendously visceral experience.

But why I still love these films is that, as I said, they are artistic masterpieces. The costumes, the cinematography, the effects, the fucking music, the sound…

People are being too black and white. This adaptation isn't contemptibly awful, and I do enjoy watching it to get an insight into King's vision - it's whacky, creative, and has a talented writer behind it. It's cheap, though, and has a real cheap feel to it. Some of the effects and acting is just crap. But personally I wouldn't even really compare this to Kubrick's film.

This goes to show that books don't become obsolete when films and TV shows exist. The book's premise and story are just as absurd as this film, but it works within that medium.

As Schaff put it "A shitpost disguised as a movie"

I just love it. Forget all your problems, switch off your brain and watch Bee Movie. It's a masterpiece of mediocrity and absurdity. Strikes the perfect balance of self awareness and cluelessness. Is it good? Nahhh... will I watch it again? Duhh, it's f*cking Bee Movie. And the Patrick Warburton guy is just the greatest thing ever.
