Blue Beetle 2023
The best part about Blue Beetle was the title card signifying the end of a 2 hour snoozefest. Its such an uninspired work that contributes to the stigma of superhero movies being bad. The characters were not deep at all and the humor was a pain to get through, aside from George Lopez’s few moments of glory. I thought the villain and third act were incredibly weak and misguided. Overall, the movie tried to run before it could walk.

I don’t really have much to say. The effects were top notch, some of the humour was good, but its tough to make that a pro considering I only laughed at 20% of the jokes. The story feels misdirected, yet again. They are trying to do too much and wrap up all the loose ends. Sure this rating is coming from a marvel fan, and I’m sure if I just saw the movie with less context, I would’ve liked it more. But this is the probably the point where I rescind my marvel fanhood. And IMDb 8.4?!? What the?
