A tough one to commentate. On one hand is the marvelous director so focused on beauty that it feels vulgar to keep looking at a scarcely dressed enchanting woman, on the other hand is every image a moving painting in another covincing ode to Napoli.
It doens’t feel like Sorrentino understands what women want. Not always perfectly acted and every scene feels like a loose part itself, although that might be the exact point, since the film is not only about beauty, but merely about pain and time.

What even to say after 5 hours of this comlete crushing watching experience. Somehow it doesn’t feel like the extremely heavy images were misused. To shock of course, but that might be necessary to show the repulsive sides of life. To not look away for what people are doing in the world. A story where impressive script writing, flawless acting, metaphors from all aspects of life and even humour comes together in an sad synergy. Yet, because of the nausiation, I wouldn’t recommend this film to anyone, expect from Draco Malfoy
