  Majestic, silly, nearly plotless, terrific score and photography.

  Best to remember the film is adapted from a novel and that that novel was not written by a Mohican, Huron, Mohawk, or Algonquin person.

  Featuring everything I love about Mann—hyper-stylized images, killer synth soundtracks, cops completely subsumed by the darkness they claim to fight, and the thrill/threat of another violent crime one move away. 

  And also featuring about 20 extra minutes of romance that nearly put me to sleep.

  One of all-time favorite sci-if movies. 

  Beautiful and lovingly told, another level-up by Villeneuve. Incredible patience with the camera, striking soundscapes, and carefully crafted storytelling that integrates circular concepts throughout visuals and script. 

  Master performance from Adams. 

  Saw this first with Michelle, Mike, and Katie at SIFF. Then again with my Mom later in the summer. This is our fourth watch.

  Had a lot of fun with friends recasting this with Cranston in the Bateman role and maybe even Aaron Paul as a much more believable deadbeat in the Edgerton role.

  Two hours is irresponsibly long for something like this.
