The pacing is glacial but I actually didn't mind. It's this slow build of tension and suspense, punctuated by a frantic synth soundtrack.

The vampire thing is kinda tangential, it could be any supernatural creature.

For it being so low budget, it's quite good. I think most of that is due to Zohra Lampert, her acting is really very good - she does a fantastic job at portraying the mental health struggles.

Deeply atmospheric, I just wish I'd had a higher resolution copy.

It's a bit trite - though what do you expect from the genre.

Jennifer using ASL is cool to see, and Count Yorga was a surprise - it's also not really a plot point which was nice. The other thing I liked were flashbacks as Cynthia is fighting through the hypnosis, and ultimately culminating in her taking revenge.

Apart from that though, it's maybe played too straight for it to be a satire? There are comedic elements but it never quite lands in my opinion.

Really good sci-fi movie! Enjoyed this one a lot. Long runtime but I wasn't clock watching - kept my attention the full way through.

Fantastic performances from everyone. The veneers man, very good.

It's not at all subtle, but does it need to be?

Two clown GFs just exploring the countryside prank - gone sexual.

A lot of the characters' decisions don't make any sense. How does one get buried alive accidentally? Just so you can have the cool hand shot up through the soil? Maybe I just need to be French to understand.

I'd have definitely preferred this as a series of stills, or a poster. Some nice shots (car burning, castle, dungeon, church yada yada) but it's all very gratuitous and non-consensual. It's better shot than the other Rollins I've watched, but I didn't care for it.
