Somehow features absolutely negative chemistry from a real life couple, because J-Lo is weirdly believable as a lesbian while Batfleck is playing a mafioso like he’s Mutt from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Strangely has one of the most bafflingly bad scores I’ve ever heard, & makes it impossible for almost any scene to follow a tone.

I’m… still torn as to how I feel about this, specifically how well Yorgos works in an anthology format. His drier films are always tougher for me, & there’s something about the dark absurd parables here that didn’t sit right with me. His characters come from such bleak places that they feel almost one-dimensional in their darkness without the time to develop them past the themes of their segments. And there are some elements (like the dogs in the second segment)…
Yorgos finally makes a movie that’s FUN but no less dark or introspective. Genius score that’s always dissonant in different ways to fit Bella’s arc & relationships. This man is playing 5D chess with how we view relationships in a way that leaves me in terrified (& mildly concerned) awe. I could watch God burp for hours.
I feel like I would like this if had more black comedy like The Favourite, more biting commentary on the rich much Parasite, enough horror to do more with the whole vampire thing, but as is it’s just… toxic yaoi about the worst kind of people.
The movie WISHES it had an uncomfortable evil scheme handjob scene as good as The Favourite.
