Anora 2024
Great cast, amazing cinematography. The dynamics of social class is realistically portrayed in this movie in a way that successfully made me angrier at the society even more. Although a heavy topic, the writing carefully incorporated humor into the story, which is how most of us try to live with the unfair and unjust world we live in. The film was well-paced in almost its entirety, expect the last 10 or so minutes, which kinda threw me off a bit. Maybe it was intentional, i don’t know. I’m still making sense of that.

Not a single dialogue, and yet, so much was said and felt. I didn’t know what to expect going into watching this but boy did they deliver! I’m so impressed by the art style and the storytelling. Set in a world where there are no longer humans, what these animals experience is something we could never imagine going through on our own. And yet, with the art of empathy, comraderie, connection, and might I add, instinctive tendencies, these animals survive…
