  5 stars for the last 30min’s absolute batshit Dead Alive / Cronenberg level crazy video nasty. Just wish the first 2hrs had more *substance* for lack of a better word. I fully regret not seeing this in a packed theater.

  Did I watch the same movie as everyone here? Cuz I have never been so simultaneously bored & viscerally annoyed to sit through 3hrs of such a soulless, joyless, derivative slog.

  It's frustrating, because so much of it is there in theory: a return to an exquisitely dark backdrop for Gotham; the depiction of more realistic & less gimmicky villains; & the concept of a young angsty Batman still figuring his shit out. But it fails to be anything other than a monotonous…

  Update (6 hours of my life lost):
  Insufferable people having breathy vanilla sex and maybe saying 5 words at a time to each other. I've seen better love stories on Pornhub.
