Very surface-level, doesn't go anywhere interesting and only one person says the word "cult" a single time.
But looked at as a mid-00s PBS doc it did an acceptable job and featured interesting characters, included a Jewish man who brings an entire storyline about JW that were in concentration camps.
I forgot how much of this movie is straight up boring courtroom procedural.
How is this more intense than I remember from my first late-90s viewings?

I'd be hard-pressed to think of a more miserable slog than this film. Endless scene after endless scene of people talking in stilted manner. Endless boring action so wooden it looks like some type of poorly choreographed flash mob done by characters you care nothing about.
Paul Dano, a never-miss, totally absent for much of the film. All dialogue filled to the brim with boring Batman-isms.
And the runtime is a fucking joke.
