Last two scenes are absolute perfection, I can't think of a better ending in cinema.
Really cool and interestingly made film about the artistic process and the vulnerability required to pursue creation. The artists' hand is ever present as the narrator tells of the failed making of a film, and their struggle in knowing how and what to do, and in trusting themself to tell the story they know.
The analogy drawn between the creation of art and the creation of human life isn't one I think I can fully understand as a man, but it was beautiful and interesting none the less.
The best of the film are brilliant: the colour of Paris, the production design, and performances of Meillon, Camilleri, Jaffer and Miles. The latter three play it relatively straight, and all display great comedic understanding and timing.
The film is let down by long patches where it's hard to know that exactly Weir was trying to communicate; I found myself "getting it" and waiting for the film to move on, only for the scene to continue for several minutes longer.…
