So interested in the stories, enjoyed the vignettes, the milieu, the music, the casual episodic structure. In the bin with the schmalzy, intrusive voice over! Over-egging big time. My favourite (and I think best) Woody Allen movies don’t have him in them- Bullets Over Broadway, The Purple Rose of Cairo. This could’ve been one of them too!

This truly feels outside of time: contemporary and ancient. A classic steppes myth centering a mother deity who is a horse (of course) and the three sons who’ve bled her dry, but ultimately redeem themselves by delving into the underworld to retrieve some princesses/the seasons/or something.
