  a very beautiful movie! unfortunately it is slow and meditative and for the first ~20 minutes multiple groups of people around me were loudly eating food in crinkly packaging which DID ruin the vibe. still liked it a lot though

  i love perverts so much!!! wonderful & special to see a film so thoroughly explore what kink can mean to someone – the funny parts, the intense parts, the sweet parts, the sad parts. as someone w/ an often irrepressible urge to make dumb jokes during sex, i felt v seen by how this movie shows the potential of s&m play for comedy (without ever coming off as mocking of its subject). equally impressive that it lands the tonal shift at the ending – you could hear the collective exhalation from the crowd when the credits rolled. what a legacy!

  fascinating, aside from the few moments where the filmmaker butts in with exactly the kinds of questions you'd expect a gawking cis man in the 90's to ask a bunch of trans people. but there's a lot of really amazing interviews and footage in there! ava, the german trans woman who runs a hair salon and has a cute trans boyfriend, really stole the show for me – i hope she's still out there & doing okay
