Didn’t know what to expect just had some free time and decided to see it in an actual movie theater. So glad I went. Acting by all superb and lots of thought-provoking questions and behavior to ponder. Pacing great and dialog very unpretentious. Well on second thought some of it was a bit pretentious but in an amusing over the top sort of way. Just the right length, too.

A Slipping Down Life 1999
The movie reminded me why I ‘ve liked almost all the Ann Tyler books I’ve read. It makes me want to see a few more movies adapted from her books. Understated, quirky, main characters you can really care about, sometimes with amusement and sometimes with frustration. Loved Evie and Drum’s support system of friends and relatives and of a surprisingly sympathetic character played by Drum’s agent/manager.
