Despite being the first film with color for my "A Film for Every Year" project, it felt more like some of the long-winded and insensitive D.W. Griffith films of the 1910's than anything else so far.
There were some fantastic scenes like Scarlett's escape from the burning town of Atlanta and Rhett's final and unapologetic goodbye but all the boring and unnecessary parts of this film certainly don't help to justify it's runtime.
