Beautiful movie.
It's basically Blade Runner, but without the depressing dystopia. Like the replicants crave "real memories" in Blade Runner, After Yang similarly demonstrates that real humanity is displayed by a robot and a clone's "memory" of love and loss.
A very soft sci-fi - rather this movie is really a meditation on guilt and loss.
I thought the pacing and characterisation was really well done. But the camera work and music just seemed a bit weird - eg it felt like some amateurs were shooting some of the scenes.
Still, gives up some food for thought. Plato's cave anyone?
Just Epic.
The shot of the three massive worms emerging from a tempest of sand in front of fleeing sardaukar will live long in my memory.
Now I have to watch this in IMAX.
