As a big, big fan of Mr. Dylan, I think this is a pretty great movie. Chalamet does complete justice to all the Dylan tunes he takes on throughout his stead, and the portrayals of the other figures in Dylan's life are great as well. Edward Norton plays a sympathetic Seeger, with which I cannot describe how grateful I am that he is not portrayed as a villain. Barbaro, Harrison & Holbrook all cash in incredibly impressive performances as well. I…

Die Hard 1988
Saw this one at Smodcastle in the Atlantic Highlands, was a free show hosted by Kevin Smith. He encouraged an interactive viewing. Everyone in the audience knew almost every line in this movie and I can't blame them. Die Hard is back to back action that's hard to come close to now. Terrifier 3 2024
Hooptober 11: Day 11/31
Starting to think I like the Terrifier series more as a community activity than actual movies. The gore is consistently good, with the shower setpiece being onpar with the best Leone has to offer so far, but most of the movie ambles around until Art & Victoria fall directly into the plot. Feels more like a slideshow of gore at sometimes than a story. I love the attitude towards gore (the more the better), but there's just not a ton to hold onto. Would recommend if you were a fan of the second, but could definitely be hard to approach.

Torso 1973
Hooptober 11: Day 7/31
My first Sergio Martino, "Torso" has some nice elements at play. Lots of pepple draw attention to the single-set final act within the cliffside manor, but my personal favorite sequence was the second murder, through the mud. "Torso" is definitely sleazy, but not overly so. Nothing about "Torso" is in particular bad, it just feels close to by the numbers, exempting some certain scenes.
