Unfortunately the director's personal story is not interesting enough nor connected enough to Alterlaa to save this film from its lack of interesting insight about social and cooperative housing in Vienna or Alterlaa itself, including what was going on in the general "Kreisky era" to make Alterlaa happen and what its continuities and ruptures were with earlier social housing.
