I like this movie to this day, in spite of it being on every Youtuber reviewer's shit list.
Finding Nemo is the better fish movie but this is nowhere as offensively bad as many make it out to be.
Rewatching as an adult, the humour still holds up. The voice acting is great. Oscar IS Will Smith if he was a fish. Lola IS Angelina Jolie if she was a fish. The neurotic Sykes IS EXACTLY what I imagine Scorsese…

The dumb cop let them get away with it all.
And the movie ends in complete tonal confusion, presented as "black humour" where the father of the bride goes "so the moral of the story is you might be getting married to your future murderer haha" after telling her a horrifying tale about a bunch of selfish assholes minutes before she's about to walk down the aisle.
This might be the most dissatisfying turd of a movie I've watched in a long time. I am actually fuming.

Went in with my brain turned off and zero expectations, but had to turn it off halfway in. The young girl made the movie unwatchable.
I know it's unfair to expect too much from child actors, but her performance was so amateurish and over the top, it would have been funny if I was watching a school production instead of a Hollywood theatrical release. Instead, I was slightly horrified and embarrassed.
Without her, the movie would probably have been okay for what it was... cliched and bland Hallmark-channel fluff.
