As a historian at heart, this movie's inaccuracy is so atrocious that I couldn't even finish this in one sitting. I don't actually mind the inaccuracies, but they decreased this story to a petty catfight, rape and incest when the story was far more interesting and compelling than that. All the more disappointing when the casting was phenomenal. The most boring historical film I've ever seen. What a waste.

The film is aesthetically pleasing. Great cinematography. Actors delivered a great performance. Despite that, they still couldn't compensate for the weak screenplay. The story starts off promising but falls flat in the final act. It's clear that Oliver was a total nutjob, but his actions were just way too strange and weird to watch. And the ending's just all over the place.

Overall, it's alright, but it could have been much better.

Beware of expired pineapples and stupid blondies

I'd viewed this film before, but I mostly forgot all about the film. So, when I watched this film earlier, I felt like I was wathcing it for the first time again.

I was a bit sad earlier, I didn't know why, and watching this film that's circling around loneliness made me even sadder. It's a good film, thou.

Damn, Martin Scorsese really read my mind with that line!

This is, without a doubt, his magnum opus. It’s the first Scorsese film I ever watched, and it’s my favorite. Funny thing is, I didn’t like it as much back then as I do now. Mostly because of the voiceover. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I’m not a fan of voiceovers. I usually…
