    There are a few loose ends in The Bat that don’t sit too well with me… and the identity of said Bat? It wasn’t exactly the shock of the century when the final reveal occurs. Still, there’s quite a bit to like about this film, though I do wish we got a little more Vincent Price in the runtime. Agnes Moorhead is great and all, but let’s face it, most viewers are likely there for Price. Worth a watch or two.

    It’s a universal truth that if you hate your job and have a less than sympathetic boss, you should try your hand at socialism. I mean, why not?? Fuck the system, right? I actually enjoyed this film as a kind of curiosity, and certainly I was sympathetic to the characters’ plight. But Renoir failed to make me reach for Marx in my library. Though, I’d really like to have read those issues of Arizona Jim!
