As American as a Civil War could be, time for a road trip. Ive noticed with Alex Garlands movies, by trading scenes and shots with excellent spectacle and force, there tends to be diminishing returns in story. I understand the movie not really expanding on ‘sides’ and I like that the start of war is left vague. Its almost too vague, and in the dying vestiges of war, sorting who was the victorious is left entirely up to the viewer.…

An example of writing yourself into a corner and reverse engineering a way out. As good as Longlegs is, the use of dues ex machina to leapfrog over plot details takes away from Lee’s development/intelligence as a FBI agent.
