not sure if the person who made this film actually read the book.
The character of Winston just appears stupid and sheep like, which goes completely against the premises of the book, Big Brother was not scary in the slightest and the rest of the characters didn’t seem mind controlled at all.
However the film does present Orwell’s hate for anyone who’s in power, whist delivering a beautiful love story in the most unlikely of circumstances.

One of the most visually breathtaking films i’ve ever experienced. Both the sleazy jazz and the rainy neon lights of the city create a psychedelic trip for both the viewer and the main character Travis, as he drives round some of New York’s most deprived areas, seeing all of the filth and grime that the city has to offer.
