    I didn't know that I needed a melodrama western, but I guess I did.

    There's a certain Sirkian take on the oppressiveness of the small (mining) town at play here where your past is a constant reminder and a point of judgement. If that doesn't get you, the amazing photography of a functioning 1800s mining town will.

    I had to turn of Ron Howard's RUSH after about forty minutes. Then I put on THE CAR. Possibly my best decision of the weekend. Fun, quick and a great example of show, don't tell. Dig this desert-bound JAWS rip-off.

    Cold war spies and nuclear submarines in Cinerama - you can´t go wrong!

    Movies like this are meant to be seen big and boy am I glad I have a projector. The artifice of the sets and special effects paired with some pretty decent naturalistic talent made this almost feel more like watching a filmed play - and I dug it. A real guy movie perfect for a few hours on the couch on Sunday afternoon.
