Pretty harrowing and touching story, something a lot of Americans in particular don’t know anything about or our government’s involvement in the right wing government who instituted this terror. It’s a really lovely film and such a tender tribute to this family.

Hooo buddy. How does a movie this nominally innovative manage to feel completely empty and discordant. How does a movie with such a large budget and focus on spectacle lack almost any compelling imagery? How does a story rich in Islamic symbolism and Arab influence intentionally eschew any reference to those influences, while still seeming cynical and exploitative?
This movie is so caught up in particular details that it fails to come together as a story on its own. Misses…
