Not as good on the rewatch :// but I still rlly enjoyed a lot of aspects of this thriller. The cinematography is excellent (that rain scene when it’s shadowed on the bedroom wall ugh perfect). Loved the choice not to provide subtitles I think that’s my fav part of this that gives it a unique feel- almost like your disorientation is shared with Julia. James and the Giant Peach 1996
“Oh! Oh! This is so unladybug like!”
This is the bug kids’ Matilda.I won’t lie this movie isn’t perfect. The songs kinda suck (except for Family- so good) and the live action bits are brutal. But god damn if this movie doesn’t charm me every time!!! Mrs ladybug absolutely lethal with that purse of hers and miss spider, well, I’d die for her. Not to mention the stop motion animation is just stunning. If this isn’t us (singing together atop a moonlit peach suspended in the night sky) I don’t want it.

Drive My Car 2021
Drive My Car tackles themes of loss, grief, connection transcending language, and the ways in which our feelings spill out of us when we default to shame and silence for too long. While I found the movie difficult at times to access- what with present dialogue constituting almost the entire plot- and some character building brief and rushed, it did leave me in awe of its gorgeous stills and script.
Drive My Car urges us to accept that our love…
