Not as good on the rewatch :// but I still rlly enjoyed a lot of aspects of this thriller. The cinematography is excellent (that rain scene when it’s shadowed on the bedroom wall ugh perfect). Loved the choice not to provide subtitles I think that’s my fav part of this that gives it a unique feel- almost like your disorientation is shared with Julia.
Maika Monroe I think rlly shone in this role and a solid directorial debut for Okuno.…

I won’t lie this movie isn’t perfect. The songs kinda suck (except for Family- so good) and the live action bits are brutal. But god damn if this movie doesn’t charm me every time!!! Mrs ladybug absolutely lethal with that purse of hers and miss spider, well, I’d die for her. Not to mention the stop motion animation is just stunning. If this isn’t us (singing together atop a moonlit peach suspended in the night sky) I don’t want it.
Brooo this held up so good. Also lmk how I forgot ab the gore of vamps chomping on human skulls and fully combusting (& the glitter blood!!!!ugh). Awesome stuff
