  Considering some of the names in this film… Channing Tatum, Geena Davis, Christian Slater, Kyle MacLachlan and others….I was expecting more. I would have tapped out, but I kept waiting for something more that never came. Like a plot. Or intrigue. Or character development. I don’t know, maybe that’s just me.

  Maybe I was drawn to watch because of the controversy, but I wasn’t disappointed. There are some holes and some silly character names, but that doesn’t hurt the big picture. It started good discussion on a difficult topic. And that’s important.

  As usual, Tom Hanks is very good. It’s action-packed but only covers 48 hours. Two long days and 2 even longer nights of life or death drama. Hard to fathom the loss of 3500 ships and 72,000 service members.
