    A wonderful, hilarious and brutal surrealist take on the themes and tropes present in Romantic/Victorian literature—an examination of human nature in the age of a burgeoning medical experimentation. Very Frankenstein, of course, but also those sorts of stories in which an innocent young person experiences the hedonism and nihilism available to them in the world as they go on these fantastical journeys filled with a myriad of interesting characters. Emma Stone and Mark Ruffalo (aka my best friend) were so much fun to watch, and the soundtrack really punctuated the film. I really enjoyed this twisted odyssey.

I laughed, I cried, I pledged a vow of silence until Tristan’s good name is restored and this injustice be righted, when Castlegar awards him with this much-deserved title.
