I watched this movie again with a friend of mine. The Master, who (uses mimesis to teach others the very same practice as a panacea, meets Freddie, whose acting skills only work to help him beat someone up. Funnily enough I find it more believable that Freddie has had past lives than anyone else in the film. He’s like some kind of specter more than human. Entrancing film.

Gladiator II 2024
This movie failed to make me care about a single thing that happened at all. The visuals were impressive and Denzel Washington had some charisma, but the plot, writing, and characters were bland and uninteresting. Ultimately, the movie’s greatest sin is hypocrisy in that its shallow depths leave a spectacle nearly as vacuous as the blood sport it seeks to critique.
