  while obviously a fantastic film on its own merits, i think it’s a great companion piece to the end of evangelion- it represents a perspective eoe noticeably lacks; the girls. hiromi has to deal with the same fundamental issues as shinji with the added bonus of living in a world full of shinjis (the real one, lol). instead of a boy hurting the women in his life, we get inside the head of a girl hurt by the men in her life. coming of age as a woman is just that much more gross, uncomfortable and scary. im sorry hiromi. i love you hideaki anno
