    Kind of dull and meandering. The best part was the ending, which I had seen before just by living in the 20th Century. Nearly every actor felt like they were in a different movie.

    For Bond’s 40th anniversary they looked to honor him with references to all previous movies. The story itself felt recycled from bits of Diamonds Are Forever and Man With A Golden Gun. We open with Bond being captured and ineffectual. Then we get the worst Bond theme song (and one of Madonna’s worst songs as well).

    Bond returns for the next instalment of Pierce Brosnan’s run, and he’s brought one of the most hated Bond girls ever with him. 

    Look, this film isn’t great. It has a convuluted plot. But it also has solid action throughout, good character work from Brosnan and Sophie Maceau, and unlike most Bond films it breezes right by. I found it enjoyable and unoffensive for a middle of the road plot.
