The biggest mind fuck since Clockwork Orange. A long, torturous 3 hours of absurdist surrealism. I realise now I don’t like absurdist surrealism. Production, script, set and lighting - reminiscent of Ken Loach gritty, if exacting. Concepts and human behaviour to hate, but lots to appreciate in this film. Glad I saw it but don’t recommend.

Monkey Man 2024
So much red. Red lighting, red sets, deeply red blood. Rich red, evocative red, visceral red. Everything about Monkey Man was profoundly felt - of mind, body and soul. Perfect Days 2023
Peaceful and meditative, Perfect Days might also be enjoyed in a darkened art gallery space as it is as much a poetic installation as a beautiful film. Dream Scenario 2023
Such an extraordinarily unusual film. Delighted in the richness of colourisation of the super 16mm film which also lends itself well to heighten the effect of the dream vignettes particularly. Part drama, part horror, part brutal cultural commentary. But oh my, the inappropriate comedy had me doing my best to suppress the wet-my- pants-laugh-out-loud in a cinema with no one else triggered similarly. Enjoyed it very much and only dimmed a little for me when the plot takes an odd…
