A largely rock-solid slasher that, to its detriment, has one of the stupidest twist endings ever put to film. Right up to that point, it's great! The pile-up of misdirects are obnoxious even before it hits the big one, but it's as well-made as someone would expect from a pro like J. Lee Thompson, and most of the kills are gnarly as hell. No whiffs in the cast, either, so long as you don't mind young people playing things broad.

I Saw the TV Glow 2024
Lots to take away, but it feels like a highly applicable metaphor for being "the other," not only in being trans. Especially the particulars of how Justice Smith's character is handled.
I cried multiple times.

Hundreds of Beavers 2022
Slightly exhausting, but also marvelous in its low-budget ingenuity and comedic instincts. I was a bit restless, but never exactly bored, watching the epic saga of a dumbass drunkard becoming a beaver-killing machine, and the careful construction of the gags is something I always admired, even when they didn't make me laugh--and I still laughed a hell of a lot. An easy recommendation for any fans of old-time animated comedy or gag-a-minute silliness.
