Lost a star for not playing “Escape From the City” in its entirety.
Some moments the animation just didn’t do it for me, it felt jittery and off putting. But the battles and action were great! It’s a fun LotR story, not as good as the trilogy, but will anything ever be? There were some establishments of the lore of middle earth that were really fun, but then a lot of the end dialogue felt a little too fan service-ey.
Overall it was a fun watch, I feel like fans of the series will enjoy it, but nothing still compares to the OG.
The best review I’ve read for this movie was, “this movie could’ve not had Godzilla in it, and it would still be one of my favorite movies this year.”
