  The movie was simply ok. It was just held together by the bits of nostalgia thrown in. While I’ll admit I got excited seeing rainbow road and did enjoy Bowser’s song for Peach, the overall story was boring. It moved much too fast not allowing many of the characters to be developed.

  I walked into this movie with no expectation of a plot. Somehow a badly thought out plot made it even worse. Whether it’s the story, dialogue, character development, or choreography; the word that comes to mind is sloppy. That narration by the daughter and throwing in phrases like “systemic economic inequality” was random and honestly a sad attempt at legitimizing anything in the movie. Much like Salma Hayek before meeting Channing Tatum, I was simply unsatisfied.
