Firstly, while I would like to enjoy this movie more it is impossible to ignore the transphobia of the plot.
Secondly, having just watched Body Double, it is very apparent that De Palma was influenced by Hitchcock and it can be VERY heavy handed at times.
Despite these two points I think the film is worth viewing for all of the interesting things it does well while keeping in mind that it is very much of its time.

Excellent blend of playful adventure and thoughtful, more adult themes. A genuinely funny movie with strong action scenes inspired by the Spider-Man animated films and a formidable cast that brings every character to life. Great for a cheap movie night with your friends/family.

Targeting old people to trap in nursing homes while you take over their finances is pretty bad no matter who you are. So good start, where does the movie go with this set up? To the literal mafia. Yep, whoever decided this, I…
